Hallway, Grantham Hospital, Hong Kong
I took a cab to the hospital. Generally, it makes sense to take taxis in Hong Kong if one is going a short distance. The cost of the cab, for the trip of about a mile, was 25 HKD--about 3 USD.
Grantham is a public hospital, offering, among other services, palliative care to those who are very ill. Under Hong Kong's medical system, citizens and all tax-paying, legal workers, such as my brother, were entitled to very reasonably priced care.
The hospital was sanitary and professionally run; in the male wing, there were four men to a room.
