Evening on the South China Sea
Ed passed away early one morning the following December. His condition was too far advanced for him to be moved back to the United States, and it was for the best. Shamefully, our country does not see fit to provide low-cost, competent health care. He received far better treatment, courtesy of the people of Hong Kong, from the professional staff of Grantham Hospital than he probably would have received in the profit-driven, American system.
His ashes were scattered on a beach on Lamma Island, in a ceremony attended by his Chinese and British friends.
